Take a 12 day & 11 night diving holiday in Africa where you will dive with the fierce Great White shark in South Africa and with the beautiful Whale Sharks and Manta Rays in wonderful Mozambique Your diving holiday will start with a flight from Johannesburg, South Africa to Cape Town, South Africa where you’ll set off for Gansbaai – one of the best places in the world to shark cage dive with Great White Sharks. The drive to Gansbaai promises to be a scenic route, showing you a little of the beauty the Western Cape has to offer. On arrival overnight for the next three nights at the luxurious Benguela Guesthouse. The next couple of days in Gansbaai promises to be exciting and unforgettable! You will then transfer back to Cape Town and take a flight to Inhambane, Mozambique for the second destination on your trip. For the next seven nights, you will overnight in Praia do Tofo in a luxurious lodge. In Praia do Tofo you will experience diving like never before. On this exceptional reef, you’ll see plenty of beautiful Manta Rays and even get the chance to swim alongside a Whale Shark. This part of your holiday consists of eight dives and one amazing Whale Shark Safari. After your adventure in Mozambique, you will be transferred back to Inhambane and return on a flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. Travellers are more than welcome to extend their holiday adventure.

Day 1: Flight Johannesburg to Cape Town, Overnight Gansbaai

Today you fly from Johannesburg OR Tambo airport to Cape Town, South Africa. Upon arrival at Cape Town, you will collect your included rental car and take the short and scenic two-hour drive to the coastal town of Gansbaai. This town is not only known for its year-round white shark season but also for its amazing land-based whale watching opportunities between the months of July and December.

Check-in at the luxury four-star guesthouse called Benguela Lodge in de Kelders (Gansbaai). You will spend the next three nights at Benguela Lodge. Breakfast is included as well as free wireless internet for the duration of your stay. Your flight to Cape Town is included in the package as most tourists tend to book flights to Johannesburg direct as these cost less.

Day 2 and 3: Great White Shark Cage Diving and Viewing

Today and again tomorrow you will undertake one of the most thrilling and exhilarating experiences of your life… meeting the Great White Sharks! Gansbaai has become world known as the Great White Shark Capital of the World. and with good reason. A mere 20-minute boat ride will take you to the Great Whites. This is a 3-to-4-hour tour including snacks and drinks, fresh towels and all kit required is provided.

Day 4: Cape Town

This morning you can do another optional white shark dive or you can depart early morning to Cape Town so that you can spend the day exploring the Cape’s natural wonders such as Table Mountain or the Penguin Colony. This evening you will overnight in a Cape Town central hotel as tomorrow’s flight to Mozambique departs very early.

Day 5: Flight to Praia do Tofo, Mozambique

After dropping your car rental at the airport, you will fly to Johannesburg and from there with another airline to Inhambane. Mozambique. At the Inhambane airport, your driver will wait for you at arrivals and transfer you to Praia do Tofo which is the diving location nearby. Check-in at your seafront accommodation where you will spend the next 7 nights. This package includes accommodation which is self-catering and seafront. Your unit consists of an open plan bedroom, lounge and kitchen. A separate bathroom completes this 3-sleeper unit. You have uninterrupted sea views as these casitas are built beachfront. Upgrading to a luxury guesthouse is available however this option is not entirely seafront. Please ask your Shark Alley consultant for more details should you wish to upgrade accommodation.

Day 6 to 10: Diving Praia do Tofo

Whilst staying at Tofo you have 8 dives and I whale shark safari included. During the interval of the double tank scuba dives, you will also be looking for whale sharks. On many occasions, we have a bonus whale shark snorkel opportunity on the way to or after the dive site. The diving in Tofo is good in general. Manta Reef offers an estimated 80% success rate of seeing mantas whilst the marine life on this reef is still exceptional. Day 11: Dedicated Whale Shark Safari

Today is your chance to focus on one thing: swimming with a giant whale shark. Enjoy 2 hours that is dedicated to fixating and then swimming with the gentle giants. In season it only takes a few minutes before you get into the water with your first whale shark. You can expect to swim with several whale sharks per safari when visiting the right time of year. August to March is normally an excellent time to come although Whale Sharks are seen all year round in Tofo.

Day 12: Flight back to Johannesburg, South Africa

Today your journey will take you back to the Inhambane airport where you will enjoy the short flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. This is where your package ends.
