Spend 8 Days & 7 Nights in the magnificent Praia do Tofo in Mozambique and dive with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays. Whale Sharks are gentle and playful sharks that are massive in size. This said, they pose no real threat to humans and are known to be friendly with divers. Whale Sharks are slow-moving sharks that are the largest fish species alive. They mostly feed on plankton – which are microscopic plants and animals found in the sea.

Manta Rays on the other hand are the largest species in the ray family. They are mostly found around coral reefs and are graceful swimmers. It might look like they are flying when they swim quickly past you. Manta Rays also feed on plankton and on fish larvae. It’s an absolute pleasure diving with both of these beautiful animals.

This amazing diving package includes your flights from Johannesburg Airport/O. R. Tambo International Airport to Inhambane, Mozambique, 7 nights in a luxurious guesthouse in Praia do Tofo including breakfast, four scuba dive packages with a weight belt and cylinder. two whale shark safaris including all equipment needed, transfers to and from the airport and, of course, your flight from Inhambane back to Johannesburg Airport/O. R. Tambo International Airport.

Day 1: Flight Johannesburg to Inhambane, Overnight Praia do Tofo
Fly from Johannesburg Airport to Inhambane in Mozambique. You will be met at the airport by a local guide and transferred by road taking in the sights and the sounds on Inhambane as you venture to the nearby village of Praia do Tofo. On arrival, you will check into your accommodation. Breakfast is included in this package. Other meals will be enjoyed at the nearby restaurants which are only a few steps from your guesthouse. Here you can sit on the deck overlooking the beach and watch whales (in season). The guesthouse is a short S minute walk to the dive centre.

Day 2 to 5: Scuba Diving, Overnight Praia do Tofo
Whilst staying at Tofo you have 4 dives and 2 whale shark safaris included. During the interval of the double tank dives on scuba days, you will also be looking for whale sharks. On many occasions, we have a bonus whale shark snorkel opportunity on the way to, during the surface interval or after the dives. Apart from the mantas and whale sharks, diving in Tofo is excellent in general. Manta Reef offers an estimated 80% success rate of seeing mantas whilst the marine life on this reef is still exceptional. You might also enjoy other reefs in this area which is famous for its vibrant variety of aquatic life.

Day 6 and 7: Whale Shark Safari, Overnight Praia do Tofo
The next two days is your chance to focus on one thing, swimming with a giant whale shark. Enjoy 2 hours that is dedicated to locating and then swimming with the gentle giants. In season it only takes a few minutes before you get into the water with your first whale shark. You can expect to swim with several whale sharks per safari when visiting the right time of year. August to March is normally an excellent time to corn* although Whale Sharks are seen all year round in Tofo.

Day 8: Flight back to Johannesburg, South Africa

Today your driver will take you back to the Inhambane airport where you will enjoy the short flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. where your package ends.
