Today your Dive and Safari starts in Johannesburg, South Africa. Board a flight to Nelspruit where you will be transferred to a luxury Kruger Lodge. This will be your home for the next 4 nights.

During your stay, you will be enjoying the Big 5 of the Kruger National Park! Every day holds an activity in the Park itself. Walk the plains of Kruger with a qualified guide and spend your days doing night game drives, morning game drives and full day game drives.

On day 5 you are transferred cross-border to Inhambane, Mozambique. From here you are transferred to Praia do Tofo, the Whale Shark and Manta Ray Capitol of Africa. Check into your luxury accommodation for 6 nights.

During your stay in Tofo, you will enjoy 8 Reef dives which include the famous Manta Reef. You will also experience 1 dedicated Whale Shark Ocean Safari.

On day 12 you are transferred back to Inhambane airport from where you will fly back to Johannesburg. Your Dive and Safari ends here. Do visit again soon!

Day 1: Johannesburg to luxury Kruger Lodge

Your Dive and Safari starts here! Today you fly from Johannesburg OR Tambo airport to Nelspruit, Kruger National Park. Upon arrival, your guide will wait for you at the terminal exit and transport you to the luxury Kruger Lodge where you will be spending the next 4 nights.  Should you arrive before sunset you can enjoy the local estate wildlife such as the zebras and giraffes roaming freely around the lodge.  At night as you lay in your luxury bush chalet remember to listen for the lion’s roar early morning as you are very on the border of Kruger National Park itself. All breakfasts and dinners are included at this safari lodge. Kruger Lodge is known for its traditional cuisine and relaxing swimming pool area amongst other things.  Enjoy a complimentary sunset drive on arrival should daylight allow.

Day 2: Full Day Guided Game Drive in Kruger National Park

Today you will get up early to start your full-day open vehicle game drive experience. After a quick breakfast of fruit, rusks and coffee or juice you will hop into the game vehicle driven by your qualified guide for the day. A short drive takes you onto the Kruger National Park. Here you will spend most part of your day viewing the Big 5 and many more of the animals that Kruger National Park is home to. A mid-morning brunch is enjoyed at one of the rest camps in the park and you return home the early afternoon before the heat of the South African sun gets too hot.

Day 3: Morning Guided Bushwalk and Guided Night Drive in Kruger National Park

Today you will rise early for your guided bush walk, return to the lodge for lunch and a well-deserved afternoon rest before setting off on the guided night drive in Kruger National Park.

The early morning bush walk is guided by a Kruger National Park guide and lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours. The walk will allow you to experience the thrill of examining the wilderness at close quarters, where you will track rhinos, elephants and lions on foot while learning all about the fascinating African bush. You will be transported to walking routes via an open vehicle and it is advisable to wear a hat, clothing items in neutral colours, as well as thick-soled footwear with good ankle support. Please avoid wearing white, cream and red clothing items on walks as it could attract unnecessary attention. In order to maximize the walk experience, insect repellents, binoculars and cameras are a must.

Each evening the night drive is guided by a Kruger National Park professional guide ranger armed with a .458 rifle. An open safari vehicle will transport you into the nocturnal world of the Kruger National Park. The night game drive departs from camp and lasts for approx. three hours. You may have a chance of using one of the three spotlights on the vehicle to see some nocturnal wildlife in the Kruger Park. The night game drives are a very enjoyable experience. Upon return to the lodge a platter will be served.

At night the predators are more active, so going on a night drive increases your chances of seeing either a pride of Lions on the move or a Leopard out hunting.

Day 4: Full Day Guided Game Drive in Kruger National Park

Today you get to do the full day game drive again as this time you will drive a different route in Kruger National Park and most likely also encounter many different animals…

After a well-deserved rest, you head back out to the Kruger National Park again to enjoy your very last game drive of this holiday which is the guided sunset drive. During this drive, you will track and view the nocturnal animals of the park as they hunt and roam during the still of the night.

Day 5: Transfer and flight to Praia do Tofo, Mozambique

Today you will enjoy an early morning breakfast after which you will do a guided road transfer cross border to Maputo, Mozambique. After your guide has seen you safely to the check-in at Maputo airport you will take the short flight to Inhambane. At the Inhambane airport, your driver will wait for you at arrivals and transfer you to Praia do Tofo which is the diving village nearby.  Check-in at your seafront accommodation.

Day 6 to 10: Diving Praia do Tofo

Whilst staying at Tofo you have 8 dives and 1 whale shark safari included. During the interval of the double tank scuba dives, you will also be looking for whale sharks. On many occasions, we have a bonus whale shark snorkel opportunity on the way to or after the dive site. The diving in Tofo is good in general. Manta Reef offers an estimated 80% success rate of seeing mantas whilst the marine life on this reef is still exceptional. Day 11: Dedicated Whale Shark Safari

Today is your chance to focus on one thing; swimming with a giant whale shark. Enjoy 2 hours that is dedicated to locating and then swimming with the gentle giants. In season it only takes a few minutes before you get into the water with your first whale shark. You can expect to swim with several whale sharks per safari when visiting the right time of year. August to March is normally an excellent time to come although Whale Sharks are seen all year round in Tofo.

Day 12: Flight back to Johannesburg, South Africa

Today your driver will take you back to the Inhambane airport where you will enjoy the short flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, where your Dive and Safari package ends.
