Take 7 days out of your busy schedule to focus on one thing: Sharks! We have all heard about Shark Week on television, but did you know that you can experience all this and more in Umkomaas, Durban? For 5 days you will scuba dive on the awe-inspiring reefs of the famous Aliwal shoal on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast. The Aliwal Shoal is a rocky reef about 5 kilometres off the coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, that is the remnant of an ancient sand dune. Sharks, hard and soft corals, and other marine invertebrates, as well as a range of tropical and subtropical fish species, call the reef home. On your first day, you will arrive at Durban’s Ushaka International Airport. From here, you will be transported to our dive lodge in Umkomaas, a mere 1-hour journey. This is where your 5-day scuba diving adventure starts! Meet early morning for double tank dives on Aliwal Shoal daily for 5 days! Your adventure also includes a baited Tiger Shark dive. These apex predators can be discovered just a 20-minute boat trip from the Umkomaas River launch site in the warm seas of the Indian Ocean. On your final day, you can enjoy a scenic drive back to the airport.

Day 1: Arrive at Durban Airport

We will meet you at Durban International Airport or other pickup points as required. You can arrive at anytime during the day. You will be transferred [./. 30mins) to our lodge, where you will meet the team and spend the day relaxing. In the evening you can enjoy dinner at the lodge or at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight Scuba Lodge.

Day 2 to 6: 8 x Shark Dives & 1 x Tiger Shark Dive
An early morning rise for breakfast. We receive information about the conditions before deciding where we dive. The diving takes place along the KwaZulu Natal South Coast on the reefs between the Akwal Shoal and Protea Banks. The reefs are rated as some of the best in the world for shark diving and our aim is to show you as many different species of sharks as possible. On one of the days when the conditions are best suited you will also experience our baited Tiger Shark Dive on the southern end of the Ainval Shoal. Optional extra tines are available should the conditions allow.
In the evening enjoy dinner at the lodge or at one of the local restaurants.

Day 7: Transfer back to Durban airport
In the morning you enjoy breakfast at the lodge and then you will be transferred to Durban International Airport where we will bid you farewell.
